Questions about membership

When do I pay the membership fee?

Only once your application is approved. The amount due and the payment instructions arrive by email, with a reference to quote when you pay.

How do I pay?

By bank transfer or by invoice, following the instructions you receive after approval. Nothing is paid on the website.

When does membership start, and how is it renewed?

Membership starts on the day the payment is confirmed and runs for the term shown with its fee on this page. Thirty days before it ends you receive the renewal invoice, then one reminder seven days before. Renew early and your membership runs on from its current end date; there is no grace period after it.

Do I need to be a member to use the council’s other services?

No. Membership is a service of its own, and any of the council’s services can be requested without it.

Do I attach documents to the application?

No file is uploaded with the application. If the membership team needs supporting documents, it asks you for them by email.

Can several people from my organisation use the membership?

Institutional membership includes one members’ portal account, for the organisation’s representative. For more than one, contact us.

What if my application is not accepted?

The decision reaches you by email, and nothing is owed.

What membership types are there?

Two: individual membership and institutional membership. The fee, the term and what each can include are on the membership page, and the council reviews every application before any payment is asked for.
